The StratREAL Foundation will assist Children & the Arts by providing financial assistance for the following:
Preparation and planning
Effective preparation and planning will help to ensure that the new programme of every day work is of the highest possible quality and achieves its full potential. Preparation and planning includes:
- Developing a top quality selection procedure for arts partners, with straightforward and helpful application guidelines, ensuring that Children & the Arts get the best arts partners to help deliver their vision.
- Testing both the broad concept and the application pack for arts partners with a range of arts education professionals and teachers.
- Managing the selection process for arts organisations: to include putting together a selection panel of experts, providing dedicated resource to answer questions and funding on-site visits to all short-listed arts organisations.
- Funding a national seminar for the selected arts partners to enable the programme to be fine-tuned before launching it in schools.
- Creating a relationship management system that will ensure that selected arts partners work to the best of their ability.
- Putting in place excellent evaluation systems so that Children & the Arts can collect accurate information about the project's progress from the outset, and assess the benefit that is being provided.
- Creating clear and straightforward financial and IT procedures that will enable Children & the Arts to run the programme efficiently.
Enable 1, 700 children to engage with the arts
This will be facilitated through an in-depth programme of activity. A single arts 'experience' includes educational materials, visits to the arts partner (including one visit to see a performance or exhibition) and the chance to spend time with professional arts practitioners.
Children's councils
The StratREAL Foundation will also consider funding children's councils that would allow the children themselves to tell Children & the Arts what's working and what isn't, and so keep on improving their work.
