The Prince of Wales established the Foundation for Children & the Arts to give children who wouldn't otherwise have the opportunity the chance to engage with the best of the arts. Children and the Arts' new programme of day to day work is designed to give children the chance to get to know and love their local theatre, orchestra and gallery.

"The arts have the power to shape lives, provide inspiration
and awaken talent. They should not be seen as an optional extra for
children, or as an exercise in elitism. This magic is the greatest
gift of all - for it is what, at the end of the day, makes us truly
human."

The StratREAL Foundation will provide financial assistance to Children & the Arts to assist in three key areas:
- to help facilitate the preparation and planning work that is required to ensure the programme's success;
- to enable up to 1,700 children to engage with the arts through an in-depth programme of activity;
- to consider funding children's councils that will feed back to Children & the Arts regarding what elements of the programme are effective.
