The StratREAL Foundation Supports Outreach Around Children and the Arts Concert to Celebrate Prince Charles' 60th Birthday
To celebrate Prince Charles’ 60th birthday on November 14th, TRH The Prince of Wales, President, The Prince’s Foundation for Children and the Arts, and The Duchess of Cornwall attended a concert at the Paul Hamlyn Hall, the Royal Opera House, London. Nearly 200 children from six schools across the country who have taken part in music programmes run by The Prince’s Foundation for Children and the Arts performed for Their Royal Highnesses. They were accompanied by the Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Owain Arwel Hughes. Claire Jones, official harpist to HRH The Prince of Wales also performed.
The StratREAL Foundation was delighted to support the outreach for this event. Children from the six schools attended workshops prior to the concert at which they were introduced to the music and took part in activities to creatively engage them in the music and improve their listening skills. The children also had the opportunity to compose their own music inspired by the pieces they would perform at the concert and perform their composition for their peers.
The children also took part in singing workshops to prepare for the event. They practiced the three songs they would perform, and worked directly with Mr. Hughes to rehearse for the final event. This was a wonderful opportunity for children to meet the conductor of an orchestra.
The StratREAL Foundation also sponsored coaches and lunch for the 180 children who took part in this celebration.
The StratREAL Foundation’s Chairman Pierre Rolin and The StratREAL Foundation have supported Children and the Arts since the organisation’s inception.
